in the wake of excellent reporting by sports illustrated's selena roberts and david epstein ... reporting which turned "arod" ... mlb's poster boy for the post-steroids era ... into "aroid" overnight ... the MLBPA has come under criticism for not destroying the results of the 2003 survey drug testing program on a timely basis ... in response to such suggestion ... union scumbag donald fehr released this detailed statement on february 9th ... sounds good ... very precise, detailed, documented ... but i would suggest it is misleading at best
recall the 2003 deal between mlb and the union ... all 1,198 major league players would be tested ... testing would be anonymous ... results would be forever confidential ... if more than 5% tested positive ... on-going mandatory testing would be implemented ... 104 players tested positive ... more than 5%
in his 2/9 statement ... the slimy union chief says "in mid-november 2003, the 2003 survey test results were tabulated and finalized" ... what he doesnt comment on is the time the union spent (wasted) reviewing and/or contesting individual tests for false positives ... attempting to reduce the percentage of positive tests below the 5% threshold ... before survey results could be "tabulated and finalized" ... and destroyed well in advance of the federal government getting into the act
