quick hitter #4 <> plan of succession

is there another head of football operations in the nfl who has in place a better PLAN OF SUCCESSION for executives and coaches than bill belichick of the new england patriots

longtime director of player personnel scott pioli was bound to move on one day ... thomas dimitroff was being groomed as scott's successor until he left to lead the atlanta falcons front office last year ... no problem ... nick casario emerges as heir apparent ... and when pioli finally made his move to kansas city a month ago ... bill belichick wasted no time promoting casario to the top player personnel position

when offensive coordinator charlie weis left for notre dame ... rising young star josh mcdaniel was promoted from within ... and when josh was selected as head coach of the denver broncos this winter ... next in line bill o'brien was promoted and is now on track to replace mcdaniel as offensive coordinator

and when romeo crennel became head coach of the cleveland browns ... boy wonder eric mangini was advanced to defensive coordinator ... when mangini prematurely and disrespectfully bolted for the new york jets head coaching position ... belichick was prepared to again fill the position from within with seasoned veteran dean pees
