his hankness speaks again

in his latest utterances, his hankness steinbrenner has blamed a long list of injuries for his yankees current state ... on the verge of falling out of postseason contention ... and not playing october baseball for the first time since 1993 ... hankie's comments raise 4 quick questions and 1 rebuttal

the questions:
  1. hankie, have you ever heard the old adage "there's no crying in baseball"?
  2. hankie, how do you think your own players are feeling about you pretty much throwing in the towel on the 2008 season?
  3. hankie, how do you think your players feel about the team passing on paul byrd with all the injuries you talk about?
  4. hankie, you do understand that championship teams are usually those built with enough depth to withstand and overcome injuries

the rebuttal:

  1. to quote his hankness, "you lose those two guys (chin ming wang and joba chamberlain), it's rough. if the red sox lost (josh) beckett and (jon) lester, the whole national media would be crying about it. we lose two guys better than beckett and lester and you don't hear anything." ... please hankie, you are embarrassing yourself ... wang and chamberlain better than beckett and lester ... NOT ... not even close ... the real reason you're not hearing anything hankie ... your team is old and tired and uninspiring and overpaid ... and nobody really cares
